Make Music Day!

Saturday, June 21

Make Music Day returns on Saturday, June 21 and we’re hoping to make it New London’s biggest one yet! We’re looking for spaces to serve as venues as well as performers of all varieties to share their music. Sign-up is open now:

If you don’t know, Make Music Day is an international celebration of all things music that was launched in France forty years ago. The goal is to expose people to music in all its many forms and inspire engagement, participation and community.

We’re looking for folks to host performers throughout the day (and into the night). The only caveat is that all events must be free to attend. Businesses can host performances in their space, on the sidewalk, or under the marquee (looking at you Garde Arts!). Individuals could use their front lawn or porch. Anything is possible. If you have ideas, please reach out. And, of course, we’re also looking for performers who can fill slots at the venues who sign up.

Attached is a flyer with a QR code that both interested venues and performers can use to reach our MMD site and sign-up. The site serves as a matchmaking portal where venues and performers can work with one another to set up schedules for performances. If you can share this info far and wide, we’d greatly appreciate the support. If you need print outs to hang in your space just reach out.

This will be New London’s first year as it’s own chapter. If you have participated in the past, you’ll need to sign up again through our chapter portal here:
